How do you find the right food and maintain your diet in Evrima?

Can someone explain the diet system without making it sound like I'm studying for an exam?

I understand that different foods fill different nutrients, but I'm still figuring out how much effort I should put into getting a complete diet versus just finding enough food to stay alive.

Is it worth travelling farther for better nutrients when you're still growing, or should you stay somewhere familiar?

If you're barely surviving, stay alive first. A perfect diet doesn't help much if you starve on the way to finding it.

For herbivores, learn what your current species needs and pay attention to the relevant zones. What works for one dinosaur might not work for another.

I once spent ages searching for food and then realised I'd walked past what I needed. 10/10 survival instincts.

Check your character's nutrient indicators rather than guessing. The benefits of a mixed diet are real gameplay mechanics, but the exact food sources depend on your species and the current game build.

And don't cross half the island for a tiny improvement when you're already low on water. Priorities, people.
